University of Exeter - Baring Court-
GV Multimedia's continuing work at The University of Exeter saw further installations undertaken at Baring Court. Back in 2009, the team completed an impressive installation at Baring Court 114. The comprehensive system featured a twin projection system and NEC screens on motorised arms that can fold away when not in use. This latest project saw the team, led by Accounts Manager Andy Knight, install AV systems within nine identical teaching rooms throughout the building situated on University of Exeter’s smaller St. Luke’s Campus.
Each of the rooms has been integrated with SMART SMB685i6 interactive whiteboard systems incorporating UF70W projectors. They also feature TK Team wall-to-wall dry-wipe whiteboards that were made to measure in order to fit the space - thus fulfilling the requirement that lecturers have maximum available whiteboard space.
Four of the rooms feature WolfVision visualisers and utilise DTP Cat5 senders for the video signal to go to the interactive whiteboard’s projector. Each of the rooms has a SMART SP518 Podium interactive pen display, TeamMate lectern and Extron control and switching. For the rooms’ audio systems, they feature JBL Control 1 speakers. Each of the nine rooms also features a Sennheiser hearing loop system.
The project was carried out alongside other works at University of Exeter including installations at The Peter Chalk Centre and Hatherly and Queens buildings. All projects were completed to the same deadline, requiring coordination between our installation teams, other contractors and the University itself.
The project is a prime example of the consistent high standards implemented by the team throughout all of the work carried out at University of Exeter.
