University of Warwick-
The University of Warwick decided to push Digital Signage across their campuses in an effort to serve the student population, providing them with relevant information regardless of where they are on campus.
In order to achieve this ideal, they commissioned GV Multi-media to install video walls into four locations and single panels into around 20 locations throughout the rest of the university – including outdoor screens and panels set up at the university’s halls of residence. Their primary purpose is Digital Signage display but the video walls are also being used for presentations. All panels are used in conjunction with Cisco Digital Signage boxes distributed throughout the University of Warwick. The project is part of a wider plan to slowly push Digital Signage to all campuses and locations.
GV Multi-media had to offer a different, appealing way of seeing Digital Signage – opting for an unconventional display method that was aesthetically pleasing. In some spaces, the signage needed to be on a larger scale - hence the requirement for video walls.
GV Multi-media worked with contractors to design the structures to house the video walls – the work being particularly noticeable within the system in the Rootes Building installation.
In total, GV Multi-media installed four 2x2 video walls at the Avon Building, the Sports Centre, University House and the Rootes Building. The team also installed around 30 to 40 screens throughout the University in addition to this which included outdoor screens so that students can be updated both inside and outside of the University’s buildings.
Outdoor screens used throughout the installation were Aqualite panels while the indoor units were Samsung and NEC displays for the single panel systems. NEC screens were used for the video walls.
The result is that the University are very pleased with the project and will continue to push more Digital Signage across their campuses and locations.
