Lancaster University - University House-
Lancaster University is ranked in the top one percent of universities in the world, and is highly ranked in the UK’s major league tables.
GV Multi-media are proud of the long-standing association that has been developed between both organisations following years of dealings and many types of AV installations across the campus. Previous installations have included lecture theatres, seminar rooms, bars, meeting rooms and flexible open-teaching spaces.
The most recent project was a single-room at University House which incorporated various aspects of technology. Although only a relatively small installation, this type of solution is likely to be used in various other areas of the university and represents a typical system that the university now plans to adhere to in future.
Room B28 was identified as an area that required an upgrade with a slight difference. Generally the room is fully opened but a removable partition wall allows the area to be split up to allow smaller group meetings. Therefore, a flexible solution was required.
A commercial 65” Clevertouch interactive full HD LCD screen was selected as the primary display. The anti-glare screen surface ensures that, despite the room being susceptible to high levels of ambient light, the image can be clearly viewed from all angles. The 6-point touch feature allows several users to interact and annotate simultaneously.
At the other end of the room, a commercial 55” full HD LCD screen was fitted.
AMX Hydraport retractable modules were fitted at both ends of the room. These units were programmed so that the end-user may connect their computer source at either end of the table and take control of the nearest display screen or choose to connect an control both screens.
