UWE, Bristol - Glendinning Theatre-
UWE Bristol approached GV Multi-media wanting to overhaul their existing Glendinning lecture theatre. They required a new widescreen projector, a dynamic new sound system and a custom lighting system. The aim was to upgrade the standard teaching environment into a lecture theatre that can really highlight the facilities available to students at UWE.
UWE also required that we make use of the foyer area outside the main theatre in order to transmit the activities inside the room to those outside via display panels. These would also display content created from a digital signage system.
GV Multi-media installed a widescreen projection screen for their new Panasonic PTDW6300 projector and also integrated a Mediasite lecture capture system along with a camera control facility. The team also installed a Turning Point voting card into each desk using bespoke housings designed by GV Multi-media. The teaching space is hosted from a fully-integrated TeamMate lectern which includes a Smart Sympodium tablet and an AMX control system from which everything can be controlled.
Leading up to the installation, the project manager attended meetings with the staff at UWE in order to establish exact requirements for the project. Following that, he regularly visited the site to ensure the installation was on-track. GV Multi-media was careful to schedule work when it wouldn’t disrupt students using the lecture theatre, whilst working with other trades. GV Multi-media used their extensive resources and man-power for the installation and met the project deadline with ease.
