Falmouth University needed to fully utilise the space within the Old Chapel building and transform it into a state of the art lecture theatre. Most of the hardware had already been specified during the many months of planning and GV Multi-media needed to consider the best method of integration and installation into this new teaching space which contained some challenging building structures.
The University required a multi-purpose teaching space providing full functionality for standard lectures, distance learning across sites and full HD cinema facilities. They also needed a multi layered control system giving the AV Support manager the ability to select the right template layout to the right user, avoiding complex operations for simple tasks.
This was achieved with Twin Hitachi Data Projectors a Panasonic Full HD Cinema Projector a Polycom video conferencing system, Bi-Amp Nexia audio processing and Tannoy speakers. Crestron control incorporating Dynalite Lighting control. The integration of a ceiling hung 42-inch confidence monitor gives confirmation to the lecturer of images broadcast over the video conference.
GV provided a fresh look, bringing the Chapel Lecture Theatre into the 21st century with the very latest AV technology allowing distance learning between sites.
“We selected GV for a number of reasons. It was clear that local knowledge was excellent and they had previously assisted us in making informed choices at the planning stages. If you quantify the success of the project by the response of the end users this has been almost universally accepted as the best facility on campus. The awareness of the Project Manager and breadth of knowledge was a breath of fresh air.”
